get the hell out of town – a poem

frequently
utterly
pulled away
riptide of irrelevance
cyclone of inconsequentialities
typhoon of trivialities

distracted

perhaps i need to disconnect,
forget the networks, the grids
electric, city street, all of them
for a time, at least,
prepare my meals in the open air
some big sky country
with books made of paper

and i could live there

until that, too, becomes
a distraction
